Adventure time~
My roughs and my finished work. I learned something with this, and really, that's all I've ever wanted out of this kind of art jam stuff. I learned how to use the pen tool in photoshop and make really easy and quick flats.
In case you're like me and you don't know how to use the pen tool, here's the quick run down.
First you select the brush tool and set the brush to however you want the lines to look like at whatever thickness. Next you use the pen tool to create your wavy lines of joy (remember to use the CTRL key to adjust the lines. Just hold it down and you can reselect the points you've made and drag and twist the line) and then after all that, you right mouse click to open up your options and select Stroke. This is where I got confused because I didn't know you could do that. You can even have it mimic pressure if you want but otherwise, you'll have your nice clean line now. Just hit ESC twice to deselect the lines and you can continue with your penmanship.
Coloring is a snap now too. You see, with the pen tool creating really strong lines, the flats are colored really quickly by using the magic wand tool. Just select the inside of the lines and hold down SHIFT if you want to add more to your selection. Then make sure you click on a separate layer and then go to the top tabs and click on Selection, Modify, Expand and then expand by 2 or 3 pixels depending on how thick your lines are. I used 4 pixel thick lines so 2 worked fine for me. Just fill the selection in with your color of choice and voila~ You've just layed down some quick flats. Oh the joy of learnering.

October Art Jam
okay, I'm going to be a bit strict on the schedual here. the end of this is maybe 3 weeks or a month. So maybe we can do something for Halloween I'm sure everyone wants to do some gorey Zombie for the holiday.
But maybe not, okay 3 weeks is the dead line, and this is the theme.... two things.
A. the most beautiful woman in the world PAM GRIER!
yup, the one the only. You know when I was doodling the Black Canary piece we did a few months back. I came to realization. Pam Grier is the REAL Black Canary, she's no saint like Wonder Woman, she's got flaws and enjoys her own sexuality.
So with that, Feel free to have fun, campy, gritty, silly if you want.
no audio on this, but it's a wonderful scene in Foxy Brown
B. this is a must, you have to have most famious co-star. The man who's been in MOST of her films, SID HAIG!
they are a duo been together for a long time and both unappreciated till now.
Just have fun with it, I want this to be more like Exploitation poster art, where even Pam Grier didn't look the way she did on the posters.
create your own movie title, directors and distribution. Play around like a L4D style loading screen of a campaign. For inspirations on grind house style posters check this site out http://www.wrongsideoftheart.com/
any questions? feel free to ask? Is the deadline too short? Should we be stricter? Anyone think this is too sexual? Feel free to ask.

Evangelion scribbles
Hi everyone first post, I've been lurking here for a while but haven't managed to get anything posted up until now. sorry!
I'll start with a bunch rough evangelion sketches I did for the jam over the weekend, I'm a big fan of the series so it was a lot of fun to do.

Some trailers for the next movie, It looks like Asuka's making a comeback!

Evangelion Art Jam
I apologize for the lateness of this--there was getting ready for and the event of Otakon, having to have to move, and then a bunch of other stuff including natural disasters and such that I blame for my lateness. I love what's been posted so far. It's so cool seeing what you guys come up with ^-^
Decided to have fun with this and go the total fan service route in lough of the summer spirit...even though it's explained in the movie that the beaches there are uninhabitable due to to pollution... but SHH! Don't ruin my summer fun.

I plan on doing a few more NGE drawings down the line including the end of the last movie (You Can (Not Advance)) where Shinij is struck down by the fifth (now 6th?) child--and a Rei and Asuka kitty (so cute!) fan pic of some sort.
