  1. I like the use of shading thus far. I think her thumb and the part of the palm it's connected to need to go in more because her hand is too thick. I'd aid with a picture but I am unable to at the time of posting.

  2. Oh like the palm sticks out too far? That should be an easy fix. Thanks for the heads up as always dude!

  3. Bro you should totally sketch in a sketch program (or paper) then paste it into Illustrator after. Give your self some breathing room by getting all your info in at the initial stage, it doesn't matter how rough. You'll be running like the wind in no time. Looks super so far!

    1. I find that when I've done this in the past that it's worked really well for me, but I don't have a scanner or a good sketch program, plus it's hard to sketch with a mouse, but that's no excuse I suppose.

    2. ah, I forgot about the mouse thing. You know that makes this legendary right?

The only other thing I can suggest is using a webcam or camera next time, but it looks like your doing better than fine bro!

  4. I like how you're able to pull out so much from such a scratchy sketch! :O

I have to agree, the shading is very nice.

The teeth I want to point more though. If you're going to accentuate them so much and put so much details into them and make them that big, why not have a little point? Those teeth (I think they are considered canine teeth in humans too) are supposed to have a slight point to them at least anyways.

    1. Yeah, The sketch is just me laying out the very basic ground work for what I want, and it kinda gives me a lot of freedom for the final. I think your right on teeth, though I'm afraid of making her look like a vampire, I just to add a little ferociousness.

    2. Maybe if the fangs were smaller then, and just a little pointy? Big pointy fangs = vampire.

  5. Here you go dude http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/Teapot-phx/Valk2.png

Oh, if you're using photoshop, a quick way to do a box is to make a new layer, use the rectangle select tool and make a box, then fill it in with black and go up to the tabs up top and go to "selection" and then "modify" and then "contract by 2 pixles" and then delete the middle and now you have your box outline. Just free transform it to the size and direction you want and then copy the layer and lift it up to where it looks like the top of the box. Then use the pen line tool to make quick lines to connect everything. If you don't have photo shop then I just spent too long on this comment, but maybe it'll help anyway? And did I read that right, you're doing this all with a MOUSE?! Invest in a tablet! You've got the skills bro! An 80$ tablet does wonders. Or whatever you call your monoply money over there. ;-; it's worth more than ours. I'm sad now.

  7. Awesome dude. I like the Capcom-esq font you used. I really like how you have some elements of the drawing going past the border. It's an overall excellent drawing.

Oh no way, I'm a Texan too! I thought most people here were brits with the exception of Hex and myself. What part of Texas dude? I'm in the Conroe area myself.

Get the tablet man, just break down and get one because you'll thank yourself down the road if you plan on doing more digital stuff. Heck, E-bay has some cheap ones that are exceptional.

    1. Hey--I'm England...ish... lol New England xD

Tablet vs Cintiq? Which is more worth getting?

  8. If your unsure about the whole thing, just get a tablet. If you get a cintiq and it turns out you don't like drawing on it, you've just bought an expensive computer screen. The way I see it, Tablets are a good way for you to test the waters and know what you're getting yourself into because the tactile feedback isn't the same as drawing on paper. Cintiq is nice if you've got limited space though, and I don't regret getting mine at all.
