Ape Shall Not Kill Ape!

I actually remixed Son Goku not so long ago so your getting two for the price of one here. Red White mentioned wanting to do a girl version so I gave that a whirl speed paint style.

I am the Monkey King!

Ahh Son Goku. Here's my version of the Monkey King that I was debating on whether or not to make him a her. The clothes have always been one of the more interesting things to me about the character. There's just something different about it that I love. Anyways dudes, this is my version of Son Goku, now it's your turn.

Collab Kratos W.I.P 2

So I went back to the original sketch that had a lot of energy in it and turned this into some sort of a hybrid for the collab. Here's a rough progress shot for you peoples.

Here's just a quick help on Kratos. The chest needed to be a tad bigger and I also played a little with the abs. Keep at it dude!

Keep Moving Forward

So I got a new tablet, grabbed a crappy old file from last year and started scribbling away.

A few things I noted while retouching this:

-If your working without reference it's better to use softer features.

-Keep the hair out of the way when working on the face.

-It's easier to work using a sketch that you intended to paint.

-It's generally better just to use reference anyway.

-Boobs and Tattoos remove seriousness from an image :)

Not sure where to go with this really. Any hairstyles you think would be cool, something punky? Any features look horribly wrong?

Last one for a bit

This is the last one from me for a little bit. Well... maybe, idk.

This is a concept for a little trouble maker in the city. There are other species of intelligent life that exist in this make shift world of mine. I'm thinking of just capping it off with this guy + whatever my Shadow people are and then have subsections of each.
The main concept I'm working with for these characters are that they are Faun inspired creatures with exceptionally long life spans. The children are left behind from their parents when they've weened themselves off the mother and they go around causing troubles and mischief. They're fast buggers that get away with it too. As they grow older they become far more angsty and violent and they would eventually try to reunite with the parents that scorned them away. After that, folks aren't sure what happens to them. Maybe they reunite with whatever clan they came from, maybe the pick a fight with something bigger than them and end living just long enough to regret it. But if they do live, the older they get, the more calm they become. Or lazy rather. Yeah, they're still very volatile but they're just lazy about it.

The idea for the small horns needed to be fleshed out enough to where it would work when the horns grew longer. I might even make different sub species that have different horn designs.

Back for more?

More character concepts rolling your way. Scanner still works on Windows 7 apparently, this is a good scanner. HP Scanjet3970, I like you.

Okay, first up is another tank character. Just me jotting down ideas and such.

Second is another character that I've had in mind for a long while. She's a very introverted character with a prodogy like skill with melting into the darkness. Usually amazingly skilled characters in this world are in some respects teachers and leaders but she does not fit into either catagory. She's just good at it and rather not be bothered for it.

Okay, this is the first concept of the final member of Shade's group. A hunter/animal tamer type character seems to be a proper fit in this world and the wolves there have a very special property with their fur. The fur holds no refraction of light. There are no shadows on him so it looks like a solid, black, furry thing. In a pack, these animals blend in with each other so well that the eye cannot accuretly count how many of them there are.

Second concept of the last member of the group. This time it's a female version with a few headshots. My gut is telling me to go with this one and the male version will probably show up again later.

Random character idea. I wasn't sure if I should give them facial hair or not but at this point, I think it would limit the veriaty a bit.

Another picture of the Archer character where I'm trying to further refine his look. I think I'll add more detail to the pants with maybe a zipper or something.

Old Stuff that really needs 2 be finished crit

I actually confused myself trying to crit this lol. Maybe because I wasn't sure what to crit.

Perhaps we should start pointing out what we are stuck or need opinions on.

Examples:

I need opinions on the background for one this one.

I'm stuck with the left arm on this one.

What colours do you prefer on this?

Does she enjoy me kissing the back of her neck?

Ok, maybe not the last one but you get what I mean.

Old Stuff that really needs 2 be finished

I've been going through my portfolio and all my old computer files and I found a huge amount of W.I.P's that I just never got around to finishing so I decided to finsh them while I get my new portfolio fighting fit.

1st up Crybringer's Tess.
