Neon Genesis Evangelion Art Jam - July 11

OK, this is one of my favorite anime of all time. The art I've seen for this is just down right beautiful. There is no other words I can use to describe it. Recently, after seeing the newest movie Neon Genesis Evangelion: You Can (Not) Advance, I have to say I fell in love with the series again. I even have to say, the newest character they just decided to add into the mix, Mari, is pretty darn awesome too. If you have not seen this movie, watch it, and be amazed (you can skip this first one, You are (Not) Alone, if you know what the series is about) And the greatest part of this is, there's just so much you can do with this!

For those who are not familiar with the series, here's the wiki page to get an idea of what it's all about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion_%28anime%29

Some random facts...
When the character designer was told to come up with unit 01, he was told to come up with his vision of the devil.
There's supposedly a live action film in the making... though I believe it's been set back a bit.
After the completion of the original series, the creator checked himself into an insane asylum.

When it comes to an animated series, a good source of real life references can be cosplayers.

I'm soooo excited to see what you guys can come up with~<3!! :D Have fun with it ^-^

  2. xD Eva is for all ages. I cosplayed as Rei at my last convention, and I came across a Gendo cosplayer that had to be at least in his 40s.

  3. ...after thinking about it I take that back... I probably wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 13 w/ all the violence and nudity and such xD

  4. hehe, well it was when I first introduced to Eva in the first place. But have had fond memories of it recently and it'd be fun to draw it.

  5. This show confused the hell out of me first time round. Loved the music soooooooo much. I think I was 17 or something when I saw it. Around the same time as Bebop and Trigun. Turbulent times.
