Gabe Newell

I'm not sure what I'm waiting for more, Miyamoto to demonstate Link flying in the next Zelda game or Newell to demo Half life: Episode 3. Why do they make us wait like this. Anyway, here's my Gabe.


I prefer the kinda Fleischer looking scribbles I did on scrap paper more so I'm dropping that here too. Buy the way, if your gonna take quick pictures with your phone don't use a Blackberry, the quality is crap.

Gabe Newell -- Living Proof that Fat Dudes that Rock xD

Hahaha, first post! ^^ I honestly wasn't familiar with Gabe, but after learning of his involvement in the upcoming sequal to Portal, I had to contribute something.

I usually work old school--starting with a sketch in mechanical pencil (light, easy to erase), and then use acrylic paint to color in layers starting with the back, coming forward. I think this came out decent considering my recent suckage at attempting to draw men :P

Caricature - Gabe Newell

okay for my first request, I'd like to loosen up with a caricature of Gabe Newell.

Former member of Microsoft and then went onto his own to find Valve which now recently stated they are more valuable then Google or Apple.


Not by any strech of the imagination as the most attractive man in the world, he is the reference model of the Boomer in Left 4 Dead.

He has a good sense of humor, so I don't think there is anything horrible you can make him look like... because he's way ahead of us.




By the way download the Neotokyo mod, lots of fun playing a cyber Punk Mod with EXCELLENT music. A bit closer to counter strike, which I'm not a fan of, but it's got an excellent art direction, interesting new mechanics that feels straight out of Ghost in the Shell without fukuchimas.

I'm debating about buying Portal 2 on PS3, but like I've never seen a successful steam launch ever, so it will be amusing to see PS3 owners see how HORRIBLE it will launch. Check out this interesting presentation he gave to a high school class, very interesting honest about the industry.

First time posting on the group, hope you enjoy

well here's my work process
Never read princess of mars, I was using Frazetta and Art Adams as influences

I went really fast into coloring, had a quick idea how I wanted to lay down the composition. The idea is she's petting her banth that's sensing an enemy coming soon.

A bit closer to the final piece, still didn't know how to make her react to the approaching threat, and her head dress is design to look like a frazetta painting.

I got a nasty malware virus yesterday that gave me a Blue Screen of Death battle. I beat it like the super soldier I am but my Thoris picture was a casualty saved only in a flattened state. I manged to salvge most of the image but I'll go back to go back and fix it later on.
